VISITING THE PLANT IN LATINA
Latina production plant processes special metal parts, and operates the moulding of plastic components, corresponding to 80% of components installed on the distributors manufactured in the other two plants. The plant lay-out is the typical lay-out of a production site. Apart from the traditional sectors for plate and plastic production, installation and painting, it also includes the quality control sector, warehouse and shipment sector. The sector manufacturing plastic components is the only one in the entire group. To meet these production requirements, it is provided with a set of 25 to 950 ton presses, and managed by highly specialized personnel, able to face moulding issues, and the analysis of changes to be operated on moulds. The production cycle is not standardized, deliberately, in accordance with single products. In fact, the main strength of the site is based on production flexibility, considered not only as a variety of products - about 4,000 – but also as the ability to follow the evolution and updating imposed by an increasingly demanding market. The main purpose of this site is a continuous improvement and development of product performances. The steps before final installation include the processing of iron plates, punched or cut by laser, and then automatically or manually bent and welded. If necessary, this plant is also provided with a special powder painting system. Plastic items are made through injection moulding operated by a special press and mould. This operation is carried out in one session. |
